Last night’s dinner was a colorful and healthy medley. He cooked Japanese black beans with rice, seasoning, sausage, and broccoli together in the rice cooker. We ate it with a side of garlic spinach. It was very filling! I liked how the rice turned purple color. Because of the beans, I totally thought about Mameshiba while eating dinner. See below the photo for more details! ^_^
Mameshiba dog- beans are strange but popular Japanese characters. Mame means “bean” and the Shiba is a popular Japanese dog breed. Mameshibas come in all different types, from Edamame Shiba to Jelly Bean Shiba. Humorous commercials on TV feature these dog-beans popping up unexpectedly in food and telling random, unappetizing trivia to the bewildered consumer. It’s addictively cute and does kind of make me want to eat beans more often. Check out the videos. I was surprised that they have an English version of the website with subtitled videos!
